Objective:	Students will determine a theme or central idea of a text and analyze its development over the course of the text. Students will cite evidence from the text that most strongly supports their analysis of what the text says.
Warm-Up:	Students will participate in a team building activity, and share their Brown Bag Autobiography using the round-robin structure.
Classwork:	Students will begin working on their reading pre-assessment titled “The Open Boat”	Standards Addressed: RL.8.1, RL.8.2, RL.8.3
Homework:	None
