Objective:	Students will be able to determine a central idea of a text and analyze its development over the course of the text. Students will be able to analyze how a text makes connections among and distinctions between individuals, ideas, or events (e.g., through comparisons, analogies, or categories).
Warm-Up:	Finish reading / annotating MLK’s Letter from Birmingham Jail Readers Purpose: WHY did Martin Luther King Jr. write this letter? WHAT was he trying / hoping to accomplish by writing this letter? WHO is the audience that he is writing to? WHAT grievances is he filing against the Constitution? WHAT is the central idea?
