Objective:
Students will be able to determine an author's point of view or purpose in a text and analyze how the author acknowledges and responds to conflicting evidence or viewpoints.

Students will be able to delineate and evaluate an argument and its specific claims by assessing whether the reasoning is sound, and evidence is relevant / sufficient.

Warm-Up:
Reading Quiz - Students will annotate a small passage, ultimately identifying the author’s argument, and the strength of the evidence used to support it.
